East Wall is proud to present the debut release from Dublin-based producer Mark O'Gorman. Across thirteen tracks 'Energ-E' traverses styles and moods with a joyous, sinuous, sometimes paranoid, abandon. Ghostly traces of the human voice are offset by rough club-influenced rhythms that roam and falter beneath glistening and growling synth tones. Occasionally lush and plaintive, but often eerily skeletal, O'Gorman creates an atmosphere of fascinating pressure, with moments of sublime release, unpredictably layering disparate sounds to develop tracks that contain nods to techno, hip-hop, jazz, and grunge while avoiding the tropes of genre entirely.
